Pegasus Group has recently added new 15 new tipper grabs to its lineup as part of its fleet rejuvenate program. This initiative further solidifies their growing partnership with MV Commercial.
These new additions consist of 32-tonne DAF CF 450 trucks, equipped with Thompson tipper bodies and Epsilon M125 grabs, and are accompanied by two new service vans. These vehicles represent the most recent specialized assets that Pegasus Group has acquired from market leading truck, trailer, and van supplier MV Commercial.
Under a three-year contract hire agreement, these tipper grabs are being deployed for the purpose of attending to emergency repairs in the gas, electric, and water utilities' infrastructure. Their primary operational areas are predominantly in the Midlands and the southern regions of England.
Daniel Joyner, the Transport Manager at Pegasus Group, stated, "We operate seven days a week with someone always on call. To reduce maintenance costs and minimize downtime, we once again turned to MV Commercial to refresh our fleet. When dealing with emergency utilities work, quick on-site repairs are crucial. The last thing we want is for our vehicles to be out of commission due to mechanical issues. Reliability is of utmost importance to our clients, and MV has answered our call by delivering these exceptional new vehicles that will enhance our business operations' efficiency."
The DAF trucks, compliant with FORS Gold standards, come equipped with a range of high-end equipment, including cameras and sensors to ensure the safety of both road users and pedestrians while these trucks are involved in utility work at busy roadside sites. Each vehicle is marked with fluorescent orange-red chevron safety markings and LED beacon bars, in accordance with Chapter 8 standards.
Following this latest acquisition, MV Commercial has now supplied one-third of the Pegasus Group's 84-vehicle fleet. Over the past four years, MV has provided various specialist vehicles, such as hot boxes, tipper grabs, and 7.5-tonne trucks to the company.
Joyner emphasized the strong relationship with MV Commercial, saying, "MV Commercial is one of our primary specialist vehicle suppliers for a very good reason. They had the necessary stock available and ensured a seamless fleet replacement program by delivering promptly. Their customer service and aftersales support are consistently outstanding."
To guarantee continued fleet compliance and maximize vehicle uptime for contract hire customers like Pegasus, MV Commercial maintains a 24/7 customer support and response unit. In the event of breakdowns, the company uses its Ready to Go fleet to dispatch required replacement vehicles within 24 hours. Major repairs and maintenance typically take two to three days, with minor repairs prioritized to get vehicles back on the road within 24 hours.
